First of all, condolences to all regarding the death of Sir Arthur C. Clarke, a great mind who lit the fires of imagination for so many, and who contributed so much.
I've suddenly been given some decisions to make, and although these are the same decisions that keep cropping up, they are just as hard to think about each time! I've been offered a full time position at work. Money would be great, but we're not in dire need yet. And it would also mean one less day at home with the family. You'd think that decision would be easier to make with the munchkin in school, but what happens in summer?
Another decision sounds kind of silly. A few months ago I sent off for some information on a writing class. It's from the Long Ridge Writer's Group. Well, life took over (as usual) and I never sent in the writing test they ask you to take before deciding to accept you to the writing classes. They seem to have a focus on free lance magazine writing, but say that those connections can help make book deals.
So they have sent another writing test to me. In some ways, free lance would be great, because my hours wouldn't shift anymore like where I work now. No more nights and weekends. Sounds pretty cool. BUT, I worry that making it "work" would take the fun out of it.
So if there are fellow writers/bloggers out there who know more about free lance than I do, any input would be greatly appreciated!
I go through these once-in-a-while periods of shift work angst, where I become very unhappy if someone calls in sick, then I get called in to work. I had to work an extra hour over on my shift last night due to co-worker's illness, and everyone seems to suddenly be getting the flu!
Didn't I promise to keep my whining to a minimum in this blog? Oops, sorry, gang.
So what's good in life right now? Um, I have a cool husband! He made a music mix for me, that has various pop songs, as well as some songs off the Witchblade (TV show with Yancy Butler) soundtrack. It's a bizarre mix, but it works! What else is good? Easter is coming!
Catch everyone again in a couple of days!
